Painted work

With the geometric style of drawing, I want to create a limited colour palate to work with. The main colours that I want to use are the rich mustard, deep red and electric blue. I have collected these colours of dye from Morocco, therefore I can dye my own fabric and screen print on top.

First Drawings

The lanterns in Morocco were what caught my eye the most, the shape, the colours and the light transparency. I started with free hand drawing with inks, but then moved onto more geometric shapes. From these images I can make more defined designs.

Morocco

After travelling around Morocco, it has influenced my work greatly and given me the basis for my art project. The vast amount of rich colours and pattern work there has been the primary source of my inspiration.

Summer Project

"You can find inspiration in everything (and if you can't look again)" - Paul Smith

Inspirations
My summer project is going to be a visual record of my summer and the influential things that occur through out these few months. It began with a 3 week trip in Croatia, thus allowing a vast array of new images and sites.

Water
On my trip I spent a large amount of my time either in water or near by, swimming, diving, on boats etc. From being so close to the sea, it has given me a great starting point for my project. I am going to base my work on water, the patterns it can create and the colours it reflects. My photography is from above the surface and also from under water.

The Final Video

We wanted to create a video that showed the patchwork cultures of Manchester, with the use of temporary clothes that can instantly change. This idea was made a reality with the use of projections, using animations of our drawings and samples. The video really came to life with the use of a dancer, it enhanced the bright colours and brought it all together with the addition of music. Overall our group really worked together and created a unique and collaborative video that we are all proud of.
