Extended Designs

With the images I made with acetate I can multiply it round to create a larger, more detailed piece.

From this design it can be repeated to create pieces like the image below. This could work well on coloured grounds to make interesting fabric pieces, wall papers, statement wall hangings etc.

Acetate Designs

To create a screen print design I've started creating my work on acetate so I can see the layers I will need for my final print. This design can be created through a mix of mono-printing and direct printing.

Worked into design

After making my tessellated design, I wanted to add to it to see what other shapes it creates when some of the lines are drawn together. I've found that it creates a good, solid shape for an outline. This drawing has given me more ideas on how to create my final screens.

Tessellated Designs

Hand drawings and geometric line drawings have been repeated and tessellated to create these designs in the style of mandalas. I prefer the designs with circles in them and colour. The top design looses the line work when reduced to this size. For my screen I will need to make the lines thicker and less condensed.

Mandalas

I'm creating my designs in the style of Mandalas. They are interesting patterns and are similar to the tiling in Morocco. The temples and walls are very detailed in their tiling. I want to tesselate my designs round to make my screens, allowing them to be repeated on fabric.
